Wet Pour Surfaces

Wet Pour Surfaces

When it comes to choosing a playground surface for your school, nursery, daycare or community play area, you’ll have many options. From loose-fill to Wet Pour Surfaces, you’ll need to make a decision based on safety, price and aesthetics. Choosing a rubber surfacing solution will ensure your children can play safely, helping to prevent major injuries from falls and offering a shock-absorbent surface that’s great for their developing bodies.

Wet Pour Surfaces

Also known as poured-in-place (PIP) rubber flooring, wet pour playground surfaces provide a bright and safe impact-absorbing playground floor in a range of vibrant colours. They are manufactured by combining an SBR (Standard Bonded Recycled) sub-base with a layer of coloured EPDM rubber crumb, which is then mixed and laid onsite to produce a smooth, seamless, colourful safety surface that can be installed at varying depths to meet critical fall height requirements.

Wet pour surfacing has many benefits over other loose-fill playground surfaces, including a more uniform appearance and greater longevity. The use of RoSPA approved granules and Aliphatic binders means that the surface will be more UV stable, meaning it won’t discolour as quickly.

Another benefit is the ability to use contrasting Wetpour colours to define different play zones within your playground. This helps visually identify high energy and lower intensity activities for the children, ideal for Special Educational Needs and Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) playgrounds where it can promote better focus and attention.
